We designed some instruments of our own. Clare's is a hybrid didgeridoo, whistle, trumpet. Bridie's is called a Toot. We played along with a Chordwainer's song called 'Groove Aerobix'. Abbey did the filming and you might notice that the tune is so catchy that even she can't help jigging around.

Gecko - Clare
I saw a gecko. It was very, very cute. One lives in mum and dad's room. It hides behind the calendar and dad's guitar. If we dipped it's feet in green paint we could follow it where ever it goes. That would be an uproarious rambunctious knockabout (We found those words in a thesaurus... but they are true!). We sometimes go looking for geckos at night. The best place to look for them is outside on the veranda. They eat mozzies. They like to stay near the blue light that zaps mozzies so they can eat them.
A whole lot of random things - Abbey
In Townsville there is a friendly builder called Rick. He has a cool black motorbike that he rides to our house to build except he doesn't ride it on rainy days. Yesterday it rained over 180 mm!We nearly got a cyclone but it didn't go any where near us. BOO! I wanted to see flying roofs or flying anything, for that matter. Mum is trying to make me like pink! Shock Horror Yuck! The only pink I like at the moment is hot bright pink that messes with your brain.

The Museum - Abbey
Yesterday we went to the Museum Of Tropical Queensland. There were massive models of dinosaurs. There was a cool fake tree you could go inside and a green slide that was curly wurly and pitch black inside. There was pencils and paper and spots on the tree you could do rubbings on.
On The Road Again - Bridie
We went for a scoot yesterday at the Strand. We went on spinny things and a huge climbing frame. We got some new scooters. Mine is covered in stickers and red and black.

The Frosty Mango and Brahman Cow - Abbey
On the way to Wallaman falls we went to the Frosty Mango and got ice-cream. My favourite flavour was dragon fruit. You eat the stuff inside the fruit that is purple or white with black seeds. It's like a small red watermelon with green spikes. After we ate we kept on driving then we saw a cow standing on the road. it was standing on a straight road near a sign that said 'wiggily road ahead go 70 k's' but it looked like it said 'cow ahead go 70 when swerving'!
Waterfall - Clare
I went to a water falls called Wallaman Falls. It is a BIG waterfall - the highest in Australia. We camped there. It was rainy and soggy. We saw a baby flyng fox. We made a mini water fall on some stairs. The big one was really good. We saw a wild pig with her wild piglet. We saw some cows lying down on the road. They were alive. We had to stop.
Be On The Lookout For A Scooter Thief - Bridie
We were going to go scooting on Friday at the Strand. We went to over to the car and we looked in the boot for our scooters. Clare's scooter and my scooter were stolen! Somebody had stolen our scooters in the the night and the tray with the meter money and Dad's pocket knife. Clare's was brand new and mine was a birthday present. We felt sad. We prayed and Dad went to the police station.

Walk Around the River - Clare
This morning I went scooting on the Riverways circuit near the Ross River. We went over three bridges. On one of them we saw heaps of turtles swimming in the water. Some had moss on their back. We fed them some meat and they ate it. We saw a weir. A weir is like a waterfall. I went on my new scooter - it was fun. We got back to where we started and went for a swim.

I do school - Bridie
In Townsville I do school. I do maths and lego and spelling and painting. I really like to play lego and listen to Nurse Matilda. Sometimes we go out and about. We have been to the supermarket, the pool, the aquarium, the museum, a wetland and Castle Hill. My favourites were Castle Hill and the aquarium.I took this picture of the cockatoo. The parrot could say "Hello" and "Look at that!". It was friendly.
The Queens Gardens - Abbey
One of the fun things we have done in Townsville is having a photo competition at the Queens Garden and the aviary there. There are lots of birds at the aviary. They were bright colours and the noise was deafening. We had to take ten photos of the birds and plants. Here are 2 of my best photos. On the left is a peacock(OBVIOUSLY!!), and on the right is Castle Hill and the stick-man on the hill is actually the saint of Castle Hill (Click on the picture if you want to see him). The 'hill' is so close to being a 'mountain' that once a year kids pile sand up on the top to make it qualify as a mountain!!
Frangipani - Clare
We went to Calum and Tilly's grandparent's unit. They have a swimming pool we found a fifty cent coin in the pool . It was deep. There was a waterfall in the pool. After our swim we went to have fish and chips on the Strand. On the way we saw some frangipanis and we swung in the Banyan Trees like monkeys. We got the idea from Calum and Tilly. I love frangipanis because they are so beautiful and they smell deliciously nice and you can put them in your hair. Here's a picture of a frangipani I took in the Queen's Garden. It's a bit blurry but if you stand back it looks ok.

I Saw Fish - Clare
We went to the aquarium last week and I saw a sawfish (Abbey likes to call them Chainsawfish!). I got to hold a sawfishes saw. I saw a friendly diver in with the Sawfish. His name was Alain and he was from France. He used a turtle as a guitar and everyone laughed at him.I giggled too. I saw a shark, a leopard shark and then we went home.
Townsville - By Abbey
I absolutely love living here. Since we arrived three weeks ago we have been exploring Townsville and swimming every day. Everyone is really friendly and I love the awesome Flora (Flowers and plants) and Fauna (Animals). Home-school is lots of fun. I miss all my friends in Tassie but I made a new friend at church yesterday. Her name is Rachel and she has a little sister called Natarnya. They have a cute little Maltese puppy called Tilly. We went to the Aquarium and met a funny diver called Alain. He played guitar with a turtle!
